Next March the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Garching near Munich, Germany will host the European Grid Infrastructure’s first Community Forum. The meeting will showcase the part EGI plays in enabling innovation across Europe and registration for the event is now open.
To broaden the reach of the meeting it is being co-located with the
European Middleware Initiative’s Technical conference and the
European Globus Community Forum. From 26-30 March 2012 developers and researchers will be brought together by these 3 events to discuss, present and find out more about the current state of the infrastructure as well as the future plans of the community.

“We are delighted to be taking our first Community Forum to Germany” says Steven Newhouse, the director of EGI.eu “Working directly with EMI in the preparation of the event and its lasting legacy in the community, and our co-location with the European Globus Community Forum will promote interaction and collaboration between providers, consumers and operators of all forms of distributed computing technology. I am looking forward to seeing the benefits the meeting will have for all involved”.
The conference will tackle 5 main areas: user requirements, software services for communities, middleware services, operations and coordination and communication. The sessions, posters and demos during the week will demonstrate the computing services, technologies and tools available to support scientists and researchers across Europe.
