The AutoBAHN provisioning tool serves as a pertinent example of cNIS adding value to applications.
Placing cNIS at the heart of its system allows AutoBAHN to quickly access the relevant network topology information it needs to support the GÉANT Bandwidth on Demand service in automatically provisioning point-to-point circuits.
Whenever two NRENs need to provision a dynamic circuit between two end points, they can use the AutoBAHN provisioning tool. AutoBAHN retrieves the relevant topology data from each NREN's instance of cNIS in order to identify a suitable path and implements the required Bandwidth on Demand service.
